Mr. Healy’s results speak for themself. He has secured a significant number of wins on behalf of clients like Dutch telecommunications provider Koninklijke KPN N.V. (KPN) and technology innovator Ancora Technologies Inc. These victories have included:

  • Winning a $31.5 million jury victory on behalf of KPN against Swedish telecom giant Ericsson in a patent infringement suit relating to telecom network equipment.   • Successfully arguing for the US District Court for the Western District of Texas to deny motions for summary judgment filed by LG Electronics against Ancora Technologies. The case settled shortly thereafter. Read more.
  • Nabbing a win for KPN when he persuaded the US District Court for the District of Delaware to grant summary judgment to KPN several FRAND and other counterclaims brought against it by leading smartphone manufacturers such as HTC, Lenovo/Motorola, and BlackBerry.
  • Securing summary judgement from the US District Court for the District of Delaware for KPN that it did not breach an obligation to license its intellectual property on FRAND terms. The case settled shortly thereafter.


Background:

Mr. Healy joined Susman Godfrey’s Seattle office after graduating first in his class from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and completing federal clerkships for The Honorable Richard C. Tallman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and The Honorable Robert S. Lasnik of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.


Mr. Healy is admitted to practice in Washington and Florida and has appeared and argued in a number of federal courts across the country, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and United States District Court for the District of Delaware, the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the Southern District of New York, and the Western District of Washington.
