Mike’s main area of focus is commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction disputes including, in particular, delay claims, construction defects and builder’s liens. He has advised a variety of stakeholders in the construction industry including owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects and other consultants. His other main area of focus is on commercial and residential real estate disputes which includes collapsing real estate transactions, landlord and tenant disputes, contested rights of first refusal and options to purchase, as well as claims arising from completed or failed transactions. He has appeared at all levels of superior courts within the Province of BC and Yukon Territory. Mike also has advised various stakeholders, including secured and unsecured creditors, debtors and insolvency professionals, as to their rights, remedies and obligations in respect of commercial insolvencies, especially where construction or real estate matters are involved.
