Michael Skene is a Partner in the BLG Vancouver office. He advises clients in a range of construction and infrastructure matters, with extensive experience in dispute-related issues.
Michael counsels a variety of groups, including sureties, developers and contractors. He has successfully represented clients before various tribunals, provincial and superior courts, and in the Supreme Court of Canada. Additionally, he has a robust media and defamation practice, with experience in all aspects of the sector, including defending libel claims and setting aside publication bans.
Michael is recognized as leading counsel by Lexpert, Benchmark Litigation Canada, The Best Lawyers in Canada, Who’s Who Legal, Doyles Guide, and Acritas Stars for his work in construction, insurance, professional liability, securities, and defamation and media law. He received his LLM from the University of Cambridge (1995) and JD from the University of Toronto (1992).
Michael was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1993 and in Saskatchewan in 2019.
