Consistently ranked among the nation’s top trial lawyers, Nicholas Gravante’s practice ranges from criminal and complex commercial cases to securities and antitrust litigation, as well as internal investigations and appeals. For well over a decade, Gravante has consistently been honored as one of the country’s top litigators who handles high profile matters as well as highly-sensitive, confidential matters resolved behind the scenes.

Over the last several years, Gravante won the fourth-largest jury award of 2014 and the largest jury verdict ever in a whistleblower case without DOJ intervention. Just before that, Gravante led a trial team to victory on behalf of AriZona Iced Tea founder John Ferolito. After a lengthy trial, the court valued AriZona at approximately $2 billion, defeating claims by Ferolito’s co-owner that AriZona was worth only $300 million. Gravante has earned a well-established reputation as a versatile trial lawyer able to assemble and lead a team capable of handling almost any matter in any venue.

He has negotiated non-prosecution agreements for publicly traded companies and has won exoneration of numerous individuals, non-profit entities, Fortune 500 companies, and a major national university in federal and state grand jury and regulatory investigations. He also serves as counsel to the former CEO of a major insurance company, to Starr International Company and C.V. Starr & Co., the Andy Warhol Foundation, and several hedge funds. Nick has also successfully represented individuals in white collar and criminal matters including winning the acquittal of a young man charged with arson in a ground-breaking false confession case and an acquittal for three leading New York real estate companies indicted by the Office of the New York Attorney General Office for securities fraud under the Martin Act.  Recently described in the press as the attorney who can “kill a prosecution before you hear about it,” corporate and individual clients routinely turn to him for their most important and sensitive matters.

Nick is a member of the firm’s Executive and Management Committee.
