Nicole is a partner in Lawson Lundell LLP’s Labour and Employment Group who practises in all areas of labour and employment law, including advising clients on wrongful dismissal, labour relations, human rights and privacy issues. Nicole has represented clients in matters involving labour arbitrations, labour relations boards, employment standards tribunals, human rights tribunals, privacy commissioners, and has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court, British Columbia Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. Nicole frequently negotiates collective agreements and provides strategic and tactical advice to clients on drafting employment contracts and the labour and employment aspects of commercial transactions.
Nicole received the 2016 Lexpert Rising Star Awardwhere she was recognized as one of Canada’s Leading Lawyers under 40, and was ranked in the 2017 Canadian Legal Lexpert®Directoryfor Employment Law. Nicole was featured in Lexpert’s Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Corporate Lawyers in Canadain 2017 where she was also recognized for Employment Law. Nicole is recognized in Chambers Canada 2018in the Employment & Labour (British Columbia) category. Benchmark Canadaalso recognizes her as a Future Star in their 2018 editorial.
Nicole regularly contributes to Lawson Lundell LLP’s Labour and Employment Law Blog and frequently speaks on a wide range of topics including, privacy, human rights, and employment law. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association as well as the BC Human Resources Management Association and is a volunteer at a pro bono clinic called Western Canada Society to Access Justice.
Nicole completed her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Victoria in 1999 and her J.D. at the University of Toronto in 2005. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2006, the Northwest Territories Bar in 2008 and the Yukon Bar in 2010.
