Patrick Ouellet is a partner of the firm since 2006. He is known as a one of Québec’s finest trial and appellate lawyers. His practice spans the fields of commercial, corporate, and civil litigation as well as arbitration. Patrick’s particular focus has been in litigation involving securities, telecommunications, class actions, construction, and shareholder disputes, in which he has been and remains responsible for many especially highprofile cases. He was instrumental in securing one of the most substantial awards in damages in Canadian history, in the landmark case Videotron LP v. Bell ExpressVu, in which his client Videotron was awarded in excess of $141M in capital, interest and costs due to the failure by Bell ExpressVu to adequately protect the security of its own satellite signals. In February 2016, Patrick was named Quebec Litigator of the Year by Benchmark Canada, an honour bestowed on the basis of extensive research and peer review and ranking. He is also listed as one of Quebec’s preeminent litigators in a number of fields by publications such as Lexpert, Benchmark and Chambers Canada. Patrick has taught The Law of Evidence at the Québec Bar School for many years, and he is a sought-after speaker on diverse subject matters related to his areas of practice.
