Pedro has been a PLMJ partner since 1998 and he heads the commercial and civil litigation team. He has more than 30 years’ experience in civil and commercial law. Pedro has dedicated his career to advising international clients on civil and commercial issues, with a particular focus on the automotive and banking industries. He has been directly involved in a wide variety of domestic and transnational cases, involving distribution contract litigation, GDR issues, contractual and non-contractual liability, and the performance of share purchase and sale agreements. Pedro also specialises in banking litigation and financial services disputes, and in real estate disputes.

Pedro graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon in 1988. He is a member of International Bar Association, a member and arbitrator of Concórdia - Centre for Conciliation and Mediation of Disputes, a founder of the Portuguese Circle of Litigation Lawyers and a member of the roster of arbitrators of the Portuguese Court of Arbitration for Sport. He is fluent in English.

Besides having an extensive experience as a lawyer and arbitrator in various civil and commercial arbitration proceedings, Pedro has also participated and lectured in several congresses and seminars on sport, sports law and arbitration. He is the co-author of “New Legislation on Sports, Commented”, Coimbra Editora, 2010.
