From 2004-2011, Mr. Wald served as Global Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Litigation & Trial Department. His recent representations include successfully leading a trial team in derivative litigation before the Delaware Chancery Court in one of the largest transactions ever to survive a stockholder challenge through trial, with the Court rejecting plaintiffs’ claims of “control” and “fraud” and finding that the business judgment rule applied. Mr. Wald also won complete defense jury verdicts in the first “holder’s claim” to be tried in the last 90 years, and in a securities fraud class action that was, at the time, only the fourth such case to reach a verdict under the PSLRA.
Mr. Wald has repeatedly been recognized by The Daily Journal as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California, with the paper stating: “Wald’s client list reads like a who’s who of companies affected by the financial crises in the early and late 2000s.” He is ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA in California for Securities Litigation.
