Randy Hordo, Q.C., FCIArb joined Nathanson, Schachter & Thompson LLP in May 2015 to continue his very active practice as one of British Columbia’s leading trial, appellate, and international arbitration lawyers.
Mr. Hordo’s practice covers the spectrum of complex litigation and dispute resolution, including corporate commercial litigation, class actions, aviation product liability disputes, partnership disputes, securities and pension matters, professional negligence, administrative law, complex family matters, and catastrophic personal injury.
Mr. Hordo is a member of the Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (“FCIArb”). He regularly acts as counsel in international arbitrations. His recent experience includes representing a Canadian-listed company before the London Court of International Arbitration over C$35-million in project financing arising from the construction of a significant foreign mining project, and successfully opposing concurrent oppression proceedings in the British Columbia courts.
In addition to his demonstrated abilities in the courtroom and in arbitrations, Mr. Hordo is a skilled negotiator who is regularly engaged to act as lead negotiator in disputes. He has successfully resolved numerous disputes involving hundreds of millions of dollars, including:
Mr. Hordo also represents the director of the PacNet Group of Companies in proceedings concerning claims under the International Business Activity Act.
