Véronique is a member of the Management Committee of Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg and heads the Litigation & Risk Management Practice. She regularly advises on complex, high-value multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration cases, and in proceedings before the civil courts and arbitration tribunals. Véronique focuses on commercial disputes in financial and corporate litigation.

Véronique acts for both longstanding clients and new clients in litigation cases.

Véronique and her team:

  • Are advising a group of junior creditors and some funds in the context of the restructuring of the Intelsat group that has submitted to US Chapter 11 proceedings. Our advice focuses on the liability of the Luxembourg based directors of the group, mainly liability towards third parties such as the creditors of a company.
  • Are advising 215 Partners LP in a dispute on fund governance issues against a Luxembourg non-regulated alternative investment fund’s general partner. The Fund is a Luxembourg special limited partnership (société en commandite spéciale). The clients are investors in this fund, which invests in private equity. The behaviour of the fund's general partner, namely several disputed unilateral amendments of the LPA, has given rise to a dispute on fund governance and to indemnification claims.
  • Represent the former directors of two Luxembourg-based funds who are sued by the liquidators and investors in the wake of the Madoff scandal. Many different claimants are involved in these actions, which require the resolution of complex legal issues concerning civil liability, banking and finance law, regulatory matters and civil procedure. Significant for the industry, the case resulted in a lot of press coverage. Value at stake is EUR 4 billion.
  • Act for an investor related to one of the largest East-European Food Groups, on the enforcement of an arbitral award, rendered under the ICSID procedure. The amount at stake is well over EUR 277 million.
  • Assist one of the biggest Asian manufacturers of building materials, with a Luxembourg litigation concerning an accounting fraud and accounting negligence. Value at stake is EUR 450 million.
