Daniel Lopez is a Partner and the Head of our firm’s Competition and Antitrust and Regulatory and Public Affairs Litigation Groups in Albagli Zaliasnik (AZ). He has been a member of the firm since 2010 dedicating his legal career to matters of regulated markets, competition and antitrust and public economic law and the industry of life sciences. Additionally, he assists the IP Group with regards to IP Litigation cases involving competition law and regulatory matters in the pharmaceutical and health and safety sectors. Moreover, Daniel also leads the Compliance Group of our firm, where he focuses his practice on developing antitrust compliance programs for clients with a more preventative and proactive focus vs. a reactive approach.
Daniel combines sound legal and regulatory knowledge, and an important vocation and interest in issues related to innovation and the development of markets in which his customers operate. As a result, he has participated in a number of economic disputes, as well as processes involving the development of complex markets, such as the pharmaceuticals and telecommunications markets.
Within the last few years, Daniel has been involved in the creation of a local association of manufacturing companies in order to facilitate bringing certain types of products into the Chilean market. He is specifically advising on the constitution process of the association, but also providing counsel to its board members regarding pharmaceutical regulations, free competition, and other administrative issues. Daniel currently serves as the secretary and head legal counsel of the association.
Furthermore, due to his specialized expertise, Daniel is regularly invited to counsel the Trade Association of Local Pharmaceutical Products Manufacturers on administrative issues and pharmaceutical regulation and antitrust.
