Glenn has extensive experience as an advocate and advisor. He has successfully appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta, the Supreme Court of Canada, and at a variety of administrative boards and commissions. His court experience includes appearances in virtually all areas of administrative, civil and criminal litigation. Glenn has also participated as counsel in many forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediations, arbitrations, judicial dispute resolutions and minitrials. 


In addition to practising law, Glenn has served as an arbitrator on a pipeline arbitration committee by federal ministerial appointment under the National Energy Board Act He was also a board member on the City of Calgary’s License and community standards appeal board and is on the Government of Alberta’s Long-Term Disability Second Level Appeal Board. 


Glenn’s depth of experience in litigation matters is unmatched regardless of industry and complexity. His civil litigation has given him the opportunity to handle a wide range of matters which include, but are not limited to, disputes relating to corporate & commercial, contracts, wills & estate, serious personal injury and appeals. 


Glenn has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Calgary, an LL.B. from the University of Alberta, and two Masters in Law degrees (LL.M.) from Osgoode Hall in both Administrative Law and Civil Litigation. After law school, he articles at the Court of Appeal and the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta before joining Bennett Jones. He joined JSS Barristers in 1998 has served as the firm’s managing partner and chairman. 


He has authored numerous articles dealing with the practise of litigation, competition matters, personal property security, personal injury, privacy law, collections, bankruptcy and insolvency and other subjects. He has also presented at, and moderated, a number of seminars for the legal profession, and has been a guest lecturer at the faculty of law at the University of Calgary. 


Glenn has been the recipient of multiple of awards. In 2005, he was honoured as a recipient of the Alberta Centennial Medal. Glenn was awarded a King’s Counsel designation in 2010, was honoured as a recipient of a King Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.
