Frank Bayuk is a trial lawyer and partner in our Product Liability and Mass Tort and Toxic Tort practices, where he specializes in defending foreign and domestic companies in high-exposure products liability and mass tort lawsuits. He has experience in class action and multi-district litigation, as well as individual tort actions in state and federal courts around the country. Frank represents a diverse range of clients in the pharmaceutical, tobacco, nutritional/supplements, paint/lead pigment, commercial transportation and energy industries.
Frank has an active tobacco litigation practice, and is recognized by Law360 to be "one of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company's go-to first-chairs." He has represented Reynolds since 2005 in individual and mass-action smoking and health lawsuits around the country, including in Florida, California, West Virginia and Puerto Rico. He currently serves as discovery and trial counsel in numerous Engle progeny cases pending throughout Florida. Since 2011, he has tried 16 cases for Reynolds.
Frank's trial wins include Weinstein v. RJR (Palm Beach County; full defense verdict); Brown v. R.J. RJR (Escambia County; full defense verdict); Wendel v. RJR (Miami-Dade County; full defense verdict); Green v. RJR (Miami-Dade County; full defense verdict); and Davis v. RJR (Miami-Dade County; full defense verdict).
Frank also has extensive experience in defending pharmaceutical manufacturers, namely GlaxoSmithKline and Purdue Pharma, in product liability lawsuits around the country. He has litigated individual and mass-action cases involving various pharmaceutical products, including Paxil®, Avandia® and OxyContin®.
Frank has been profiled by Law360 as a Rising Star in Products Liability, and is consistently recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star for Georgia in the area of personal injury and product liability defense. He is also recognized by Legal 500 for expertise in product liability and mass tort defense for consumer products. In 2016, he was named to Benchmark Litigation's Under 40 Hot List as one of the nation's "most accomplished" partners under age 40.
