Civil litigation: The firm has litigated and won cases in a variety of matters, such as enforcement and termination of contracts, torts, defamation, and real state disputes. Some of our highlights include: 

• Our work contributed to the recovery of three gravel mines worth more than US $120 million following a breach of contract claim.
• We successfully represented a Mexican company in a defamation trial against a world-leading technology provider, obtaining damages in excess of USD $90 million.
• The firm obtained the annulment of two fraudulent agreements entered into by a former director of our client, which caused more than USD $20 million in damages. 

Commercial litigation: The firm has successfully represented clients in complex commercial disputes related to a wide variety of industries. We also have extensive experience in shareholder conflicts and bankruptcy proceedings, which often have a transnational component. Some of our achievements in this area include the following:

• The firm brought a claim on behalf of a construction company against a leading Spanish bank for the breach of its fiduciary duties and obtained more than USD $30 million in damages.
• The firm successfully represented the Mexican meat industry leader against a worldwide technology provider in a dispute concerning the purchase of a USD $10 million defective ERP system. 
• The firm successfully represented foreign creditors of an oil services company during its bankruptcy proceedings and achieved the recovery of nine vessels valued at more than USD $350 million.

Administrative litigation and amparo proceedings: The firm has extensive experience in administrative and amparo proceedings before federal courts and the Supreme Court of Justice. We have prevented governmental acts and orders from imposing risk and losses to our clients in a wide variety of contexts: 

• The firm successfully represented an individual in a USD $20 million state liability claim after the illegal seizure and subsequent loss of an aircraft.
• We represent an international association of digital content creators that seeks to uphold the constitutionality of Mexico’s new Federal Copyright Law.
• The firm succeeded in an amparo proceeding that upheld the winning bid of a telecommunications carrier for the provision of services valued at USD $1 billion. 

Commercial arbitration: Bufete Asali has acted as counsel in financial, construction, energy, infrastructure, and telecommunications disputes under the aforementioned arbitral rules. The firm has broad experience handling complex issues such as the joinder of non-signatory parties and parallel proceedings. Additionally, we have handled disputes before Mexican courts regarding the validity and enforcement of arbitration agreements and awards, as well as preliminary injunctions in connection to arbitral proceedings. Some of our most notable representations include:

• Bufete Asali secured a USD $225 million award on behalf of a consortium of Mexican and Chinese companies in an LCIA arbitration against the public entity that commissioned the construction of a hydroelectric project in Southern Mexico. 
• We represented a private equity fund in a USD $75 million ICC arbitration over the sale of a university.
• The firm represents a company engaged in the construction of telecommunication infrastructure against a leading carrier in an ICC arbitration claiming damages in excess of USD $500 million.   

Pro Bono: We dedicate our time and effort, at no cost, to represent those suffering impaired access to legal services. We have achieved novel precedents issued by the Mexican Supreme Court. We believe that access to justice must be available to all, and having contributed to that end in these cases is our greatest reward. The following are a few examples of our pro bono cases:

• Obtaining a preliminary injunction that mandates an insurance company to cover all medical expenses for two seriously ill children following the illegal termination of their insurance policy.
• We also represent a person with Down Syndrome who was continuously neglected of the medication needed for his condition given an alleged medicine shortage in a public hospital and secured injunctive relief that forced a public hospital to supply
• the medication.
• Our firm represents an LGBT couple in a judicial adoption proceeding of two minors who have been under the custody of only one of their parents in order to obtain legal recognition for both.
