Biography
Adam Adler is a trial and appellate attorney whose practice focuses on constitutional law, intellectual property, and creators’ rights. Adam leverages his training as a computer scientist and author to present complex concepts in ways that are persuasive, entertaining, and easy to understand.
Adam has helped clients navigate complex disputes relating to a wide array of cutting-edge technology, including cryptocurrency platforms, digital security, deepfake applications, and machine learning.
Because of his impactful work, Adam received the David A. Pierce Award from the National Society of Entertainment and Arts Lawyers (NSEAL) in 2025. The National Law Journal named him a 2026 Washington, D.C. Rising Star, and Law360 recognized him as an IP Rising Star in 2025. He is also ranked by IAM Patent 1000 as a leading patent litigator and has been named to the Managing IP Rising Stars, Benchmark Litigation 40 & Under, and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch lists.

Recent matter/case highlights
- Kove IO v. Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Played a pivotal role in securing a $673 million patent infringement award for Kove IO against AWS. Adam spearheaded Kove’s damages theory, conducted the direct examination of the damages expert, and demonstrated that Amazon earned more than $1 billion in profits through use of the patented technology. He also cross-examined Amazon’s CEO, CTO, and lead engineers. - SUPER HERO Trademark Cancellation
Secured a significant victory against Marvel and DC Comics by persuading the Patent and Trademark Office to cancel the jointly owned SUPER HERO trademarks. Representing independent comic creator S.J. Richold, Adam successfully argued that the generic trademark was being used to suppress competition. The matter received substantial national media coverage. - Blackbeard’s Law Copyright Litigation
Secured the repeal of Blackbeard’s Law on behalf of renowned underwater videographer Rick Allen. The law had purported to place Allen’s copyrighted works into the public domain and was used by North Carolina to justify widespread copyright infringement.
