Biography
Blair Kaminsky represents clients in complex, high stakes commercial litigation and investigatory matters. She is widely respected for her leadership and advocacy in litigation with wide-ranging social and economic impacts. Crain’s New York Business has recognized Blair as both a Notable Woman in Law and a Notable Litigator & Trial Attorney, and her clients have described her to Benchmark Litigation as a “fantastic litigator who provides thoughtful, spot-on advice” and “manages enormous cases with creativity and enthusiasm.” Chambers USA has recognized her for general commercial litigation in New York since 2022.

Among other notable work, Blair represents Visa in multi-district class action antitrust litigation filed on behalf of merchants, as well as in opt-out cases brought by some of the country’s largest retailers relating to network rules at the heart of the Visa system. On June 9, 2026, the Court granted preliminary approval of a landmark $200 billion settlement in the class action, and the opt-out cases are set for trial in September 2026.

In ongoing, heavily contested multi-forum litigation, Blair represents a major insurer on claims brought by major manufacturers, the nation’s largest drug distributors, and its largest pharmacy chains seeking coverage for governmental budgetary impacts arising from the national opioid epidemic. Blair and the HSG team have secured key wins against Walgreens, Mallinckrodt, Publix, Endo, CVS, and Albertsons, building on prior summary judgment victories against policyholders such as Rite Aid, McKesson, and Zogenix.

Most recently, Blair argued and won summary judgment against Albertsons in Delaware Superior Court in May 2026. In February 2026, she also prevailed against the Trustee appointed in Endo’s bankruptcy in Pennsylvania federal court.

Blair also serves as lead counsel for the same major insurer in complex coverage disputes involving lawsuits arising from alleged social media addiction. The matters involve insurance contracts with major social media companies including Meta, Snap, Google/YouTube and Discord. Most recently, she secured summary judgment against Meta in Delaware Superior Court in February 2026.

Blair and her team recently obtained a complete dismissal for IBM in a putative class action under the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA). She also secured multiple significant wins for Tencent in three separate disputes and led negotiations resulting in a confidential settlement on behalf of a CEO departing a major nationwide corporation.

Blair has represented elite hedge funds and other clients in white collar matters and confidential investigations. She regularly advises and represents clients on shareholder matters, bankruptcy and restructuring, high-value partnership disputes, employment disputes, and other sophisticated commercial matters.

She is a member of Holwell Shuster & Goldberg’s four-member Management Committee and plays a leadership role in the firm’s marketing, recruiting, and mentoring initiatives.

Prior to joining HSG, Blair was a litigation associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where she represented JPMorgan in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy litigation and NYSE Euronext in litigation involving a proposed $10 billion merger. She clerked for the Hon. Judith Rogers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

Among other honors, Blair was named a Distinguished Leader by the New York Law Journal, one of New York Business Journal’s Women of Influence, recognized in Benchmark Litigation’s Top 250 Women in Litigation, and included in Legal 500’s New York City Elite Rankings for Commercial Disputes.
