Biography

Caitlin is a general civil and commercial litigator in the Vancouver office of Lawson Lundell. She handles complex civil and commercial disputes, public and Indigenous law matters, class actions, and appeals.

As litigation counsel, Caitlin’s practice spans a broad range of areas, from high-value contractual disputes, Aboriginal title litigation, and civil forfeiture claims, to sensitive disputes involving sexual assault and abuse. Her approach to the practice of law combines intellectual rigor, compelling advocacy, and a sincere commitment to understanding and representing her clients’ interests.

Caitlin has appeared as counsel before all levels of court in British Columbia, the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. After law school, Caitlin served as a judicial law clerk for two justices of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia.

In addition to her litigation practice, Caitlin co-authors the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia’s Civil Appeal Handbook, teaches as an adjunct professor at the UBC Faculty of Law, and serves as an active volunteer with the Access Pro Bono Society of British Columbia. Caitlin is also a founder of the Japanese Canadian Lawyers Association (JCLA), and an enthusiastic champion and mentor for law students and new lawyers in the profession.
