Biography
Elizabeth is the Co-Head of the firm's International Disputes Practice Group. Elizabeth represents clients in high-profile disputes involving major projects and foreign investments. Her cases are regularly at the cutting edge of international arbitration practice, and many exceed USD 1 billion in dispute. Elizabeth is licensed to practice in New York and Georgia, and she has repeated experience in disputes involving the governing laws of the U.S., England, and various jurisdictions in Europe and Asia.
Elizabeth has achieved favorable results for clients in dozens of investor-State and commercial arbitrations and disputes. She has repeated experience in complex cases involving multiple parties, government entities, investigation and litigation components, sanctions, and cross-jurisdictional aspects. Her counsel experience includes arbitrations convened under the AAA/ICDR, CPR, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, SIAC, and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, and practice before U.S. federal courts.
Elizabeth often handles disputes connected to long-term contracts (sale and purchase, joint venture, supply, production sharing, concession, EPC, licensing, sponsorship, etc.), deepening her knowledge not only of these contractual frameworks but also the commercial aspects of long-term investment and venture projects.
She has experience coordinating parallel proceedings in "viral" disputes, including cross-border litigations, Section 1782 discovery, commercial and treaty arbitrations, and injunction and set-aside and enforcement proceedings. She also has significant experience advising clients on structuring their foreign investments to obtain treaty protection.
