Biography

Eric Morgan is a founding partner at Morgan Joshi LLP, a Toronto boutique focused on complex business disputes, investigations, and corporate governance. He acts for businesses, directors, and executives in high‑stakes litigation, arbitration, and governance matters across Canada.

He represents founders, companies, and senior management in disputes over business ownership and control. He regularly defends public and private companies across the banking, insurance, energy, and manufacturing sectors in breach of contract, fiduciary duty, misrepresentation, and shareholder disputes, and has defended multinationals in class actions alleging conspiracy, fraud, and misrepresentation. Eric has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada and courts across multiple provinces.

Eric is also an experienced arbitrator, having been appointed in over 20 domestic and international proceedings by parties, courts, and institutions. He sits on the inaugural NextGen Roster at Arbitration Place and the panel of arbitrators at the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre.

Before founding Morgan Joshi, Eric practiced in the national litigation department at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, was a partner at a Toronto boutique, and gained additional experience at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London.

Eric is recognized in Benchmark Litigation Canada (Litigation Star in Arbitration and Securities, 2025), The Best Lawyers in Canada (Corporate and Commercial Litigation and Arbitration), and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory (Arbitration).
