Isaac Tang is a partner in BLG’s Toronto office practising exclusively in administrative law and civil litigation, with a focus on municipal, land use planning and expropriation matters. He represents municipalities, public agencies and private landowners in a broad range of land‑related disputes, including land‑use planning appeals, expropriations and ground lease arbitrations, and regularly appears before the Ontario Land Tribunal and the courts. Isaac provides strategic planning and municipal law advice on issues such as transit‑oriented development, growth management and natural heritage, and has successfully secured or opposed complex planning approvals for public‑ and private‑sector clients including hospitals, transit authorities, school boards, pension funds, developers, businesses and individual homeowners.

Isaac is a former Executive Member of the Ontario Bar Association (Municipal Law Section) and a guest lecturer for the Community Planning course at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He is a frequent contributor on municipal and planning law matters, including speaking at the OBA Ontario Legal Conference, Ontario Expropriation Association, Six-Minute Municipal Lawyer and other conferences that are regularly attended by municipalities, public agencies and developers.

Isaac was called to the Ontario Bar in 2011.
