Biography
Jaime Cardenas-Navia is a trial attorney who focuses on high-stakes patent infringement disputes. He regularly litigates against or on behalf of Fortune 500 companies in cases with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake.

His experience spans a variety of technologies, including video streaming, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), large-scale data storage systems, semiconductors, and the design and manufacture of smartphones, tablets, cameras, printers, and scanners.

Most recently, Jaime played a pivotal role in securing a $673 million total award in a patent infringement case for tech startup Kove.

    Secured a $673 million patent infringement award for Kove against Amazon Web Services involving foundational cloud data storage technology. The court upheld a $525 million verdict and added $148 million in interest. The case was recognized as the top standing patent verdict of 2024 and among the top ten verdicts of the decade.
  • Droplets
    Secured a $27 million patent infringement verdict for New York-based technology startup Droplets against Yahoo. Jaime guided the matter from discovery through trial and examined multiple key witnesses.
  • VideoLabs
    Leads a series of patent infringement cases for VideoLabs enforcing a portfolio of foundational video technology patents. Matters against Amazon and Apple resolved within the first year of litigation, and litigation against Meta settled early in discovery. He continues to represent VideoLabs in litigation against Netflix and Starz.
