Jean-Michel’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, class actions, product liability, insurance law and securities litigation. He is involved in a number of class actions where he defends major corporations and company directors and officers. He has argued before all levels of Court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Before joining IMK in 2011, Jean-Michel served as a clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada for the Honourable Ian Binnie and practiced commercial litigation at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City.
In 2017, he was named Lawyer of the Year in Civil and Commercial Litigation by the Young Bar of Montreal. He is also recognized by Best Lawyers in commercial litigation and class actions.
Jean-Michel is the co-author of three chapters pertaining to various privileges, as well as one book on class actions published by LexisNexis, all of which have been cited by Quebec Courts, including the Court of Appeal.
