Jingwei Guo specializes in commercial dispute resolution. He has extensive expertise and experience in cases involving finance, equity investment, real estate, construction projects, and other commercial transactions. His clients have interests across a wide range of industries including finance, private equity investment, construction, energy, life sciences, and medicine.
With his outstanding skills of statutory interpretation and advocacy, Mr. Guo has led numerous cases before Chinese courts at different levels, including the Supreme Court, while also handling sophisticated arbitration cases before a range of arbitral institutions, including China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), and Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC). Mr. Guo is the main architect and implementer of the overall strategy for his cases and is often the primary author of key filings. He is familiar with the judicial mindset and procedure of the courts and arbitral institutions, and excels at delivering solid and efficient business solutions on confrontational cases involving multiple parties.
Mr. Guo also boasts an extensive background in scholarly research. His experience includes research at the Research Center of Civil and Commercial Jurisprudence of Renmin University of China, which is a key research base for humanities and social science recognized by China’s Ministry of Education. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct lecturer at the China University of Political Science and Law and as a member of the research team for projects supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. He is also a member of the China Academy of Arbitration Law.

- Represented a leading cross-border private equity investment firm in an equity redemption dispute against a renowned medical device manufacturer and its founders before the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), with a disputed subject matter value of RMB 460 million, secured a favorable arbitral award for the client. After the target company commenced court-supervised bankruptcy reorganization proceedings, further advised the investor on applying for strategic investment participation in the reorganization plan, and delivered full-cycle legal opinions for the investor throughout the restructuring process.
- Represented a Cayman company pursuing Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) IPO listing, handling an equity dispute with the company’s former senior employees, involving a disputed amount of RMB 120 million. Served as the client’s PRC litigation counsel during the entire IPO filing period, and issued professional legal opinions on all litigation-related compliance matters involved in the listing application.
- Represented a PRC trust institution in complex cross-jurisdictional trust loan contractual disputes against a major investment conglomerate and its affiliated offshore entities incorporated in Hong Kong and Bermuda. The multi-faceted dispute covered three separate jurisdictions, with a total disputed claim value of RMB 3 billion, and successfully obtained a prevailing court judgment in favor of the client.
- Represented a cross-border private equity investment firm in an equity redemption arbitration against a leading internet enterprise at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), involving a disputed subject matter value of RMB 750 million. Assisted the client in filing property preservation applications with mainland Chinese courts, and successfully froze the respondent’s assets located across mainland China.
- Represented an asset management firm in segmented litigation proceedings across 33 private placement financing products, with an aggregate disputed value of RMB 1.948 billion. Formulated customized litigation solutions tailored to the unique circumstances of each individual product. Conducted systematic legal argumentation on contentious issues including the legal characterization of guarantee agreements and the validity and expiry of guarantee periods. Obtained fully favourable first-instance rulings, and comprehensively resolved all bundled cross-product disputes via structured negotiated settlement arrangements.
