Loni da Costa is a Calgary‑based partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP with a broad commercial litigation and dispute resolution practice. She regularly advises clients on contractual disputes, director‑shareholder and accounting disputes, securities‑related regulatory investigations, complaints and litigation, oil and gas industry disputes, and intellectual property matters, including trademark infringement and opposition proceedings. Loni also has experience acting in class actions and appeals. She has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and the Federal Court, as well as before a wide range of administrative and regulatory bodies, including the Alberta Securities Commission, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, the Trademark Opposition Board, the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Alberta Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Commission. She is also a registered Canadian Trademark Agent.
Loni was called to the Alberta Bar in 2011. She is actively involved in professional writing and knowledge‑sharing, and regularly publishes on securities, regulatory and commercial litigation issues.
