Maria has experience advising clients across a range of civil disputes, with a particular focus on commercial matters. She prides herself on creative and effective solutions to all facets of a client's issues.
Maria Naimark is an established civil litigator. Prior to joining Tyr, Maria practiced as a corporate litigator at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York.
In addition to the corporate commercial focus of her practice, Maria's diverse experience includes a legal internship at the United Nations, the representation of incarcerated people at disciplinary and appellate hearings while in law school, and participation in the editing of Law of Asylum in the United States. Throughout her career, she has also maintained an active pro bono practice, with a focus on LGBTQ+ asylum claims, gender-based violence, and community housing.
Maria clerked for the Ontario Court of Appeal from 2018-2019. She graduated from Harvard Law School cum laude in 2017. She speaks fluent Russian and Spanish, and is conversant in French and Hebrew.
