Megan Shortreed

Megan Shortreed is a senior partner at Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP in Toronto where she routinely represents clients in corporate, commercial, employment, civil, and administrative litigation. She argues cases involving shareholder and partnership disputes, duties of directors and employees, trusts and estates, and other complex commercial cases. She acts often on behalf of senior executives respecting their compensation, employment contracts or termination from employment, and for both employers and employees in respect of sensitive workplace investigations. She routinely appears before the Toronto Commercial and Estates Lists, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal. She has extensive hearings experience before professional disciplinary tribunals. She is recognized by Chambers Canada, where she is noted as having “a wide commercial practice, with additional experience of public law-related mandates” and “deep experience in employment litigation, as well as professional regulation”. She is also recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert and Benchmark Litigation, which named her Health Law/Medical Litigator of the Year in 2021 and 2024. Megan was the inaugural recipient of the Honsberger Award, presented by the Toronto Lawyers Association in 2014, and received the Lexpert Zenith Award Celebrating Women in Law in 2017.
