Michel Grumach is a Senior Associate of Schmidt, Lourenço, Kingston’s Civil, Commercial and Public Law Litigation and Arbitration practices since 2016 and has over 13 years of experience in this field. He joined the Firm in January 2012, where he currently leads a team of seven associates.
Presently completing his Master’s degree in Procedural Law at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (conclusion in 2021), he holds a postgraduate degree in Law and Economics applied to Regulatory and Antitrust Law from UERJ (2016-2018), and obtained his Law degree (LL.B) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUC-Rio (2006-2011), where he was granted an academic performance scholarship since admission.
Michel provides legal counsel to a wide variety of clients and participates in a significant number of complex, strategic cases both in private and public sectors, especially in matters of oil & gas and infrastructure sectors, construction contracts, public biddings, class actions, administrative misconduct actions, corporate litigation and actions for damages, in Judicial Courts and Arbitration procedures. He had an important role in recently attaining a condemnation, on his client’s behalf, of more than 4 (four) billion Reais, adjusted for inflation.
He often participates in seminars, lectures and academic forums of Procedural Law and Arbitration and is the author of several articles reflecting his studies of Procedural Law.
