Biography
Nicholas F. Menillo is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Group and serves as a co-head of the Firm’s Insurance Coverage Group.
His litigation practice includes representing clients in a variety of areas, including securities, antitrust, intellectual property, contract, bankruptcy and government investigations. In addition to his general litigation experience, Nick has expertise in insurance-related issues—including coverage matters, non-coverage litigation and regulatory matters for insurance industry participants, and insurance issues in M&A and other transactions.
Nick’s work was highlighted by Law360 in awarding S&C the “Insurance Group of the Year” recognition in January 2025. He has also been recognized as a Law360 Rising Star for Insurance and was named to Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under List” (2023–2026). Most recently, Nick was named “Litigator of the Week” by The American Lawyer for obtaining a stay on a mandamus petition for FirstEnergy in a closely watched case with significant implications for corporate internal investigations conducted by law firms, as well as “Runner-Up Litigator of the Week” for his role in convincing the Sixth Circuit to vacate the underlying district court ruling. He is also a member of the editorial advisory board for Law360’s Insurance Authority: Specialty Lines.
