Partner in BLG's Health Law Group. Civil litigator, specializing in health law and personal injury defence. Defends hospitals, other health care facilities, and their employees in malpractice litigation. Has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as at coroner's inquests, the Consent and Capacity Board, the Health Professionals Appeal and Review Board, and before regulated health colleges on professional misconduct matters. Acts as general counsel and provides situational advice to hospitals, health care facilities, and health care providers on a wide range of issues, including physician credentialing, privacy, freedom of information, quality of care reviews, and adverse event management and disclosure. Consulting editor and chapter author for the Canadian Health Law Practice Manual and co-author of the Ontario Hospital Association’s Physician Leadership Resource Manual and Quality of Care Toolkits. Frequent speaker in health law programs for Ontario Hospital Association, Osgoode Hall, and other conference providers. Past-President, Medico-Legal Society of Toronto.
