Biography

Randy Kaardal, K.C. is a leading Canadian litigator with recognized expertise in administrative, labour, and commercial law. He is consistently listed in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, where he is ranked among Canada’s Best Employment Lawyers, and has been named a Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation Canada. He is also ranked in Chambers Canada in the area of Litigation: General Commercial for British Columbia, and is recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada across multiple areas, including Administrative and Public Law, Appellate Practice, and Labour and Employment Law.

Mr. Kaardal represents both employers and employees in matters involving wrongful dismissal, human rights, collective bargaining, and pension issues. He appears regularly before Canadian courts and administrative tribunals. He is also featured in Who’s Who Legal Canada for Labour, Employment & Benefits and the Lexology Index for Employment & Labor.

He began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honourable Beverley McLachlin and the Honourable Henry Hutcheon at the British Columbia Court of Appeal (1986–1987). In 2014, he was appointed King’s Counsel in recognition of his contributions to the legal profession.

His public appointments include service on the Provincial Court Judges and Judicial Justices Compensation Commissions, the 2016 Judicial Compensation Commission, and the Register of Timber Harvesting Contract and Subcontract Mediators and Arbitrators.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Kaardal serves as the Honorary Consul General of Norway in British Columbia.
