Biography
Tara Norris is a Partner in Patterson Belknap's Litigation department. Ms. Norris represents clients in numerous litigation contexts, from pre-suit investigations through trials and appeals.
Ms. Norris has represented clients ranging from major pharmaceutical companies to nonprofit entities in intellectual property, RICO, civil fraud, civil forfeiture, defamation, and contractual lawsuits and arbitrations, as well as internal investigations involving allegations of fraud and violations of antitrust law.
She is an active member of the firm’s anti-counterfeiting and brand protection practice, with experience combatting counterfeiting, product diversion, and fraud schemes by deploying a variety of creative litigation and non-litigation tools.
From 2017 to 2018, Ms. Norris served as a law clerk to the Hon. Susan L. Carney of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. From 2015 to 2016, she served as a law clerk to the Hon. Paul G. Gardephe of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

- Represents a not-for-profit foundation in connection with civil asset forfeiture proceedings and several lawsuits brought under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act and the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, including appeals before the Second Circuit.
- Represents pharmaceutical companies in cases involving allegations of fraud and violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
