Timothy Gilman represents clients in intellectual property and technology disputes, ranging from patent litigation and trade secret matters to licensing negotiations and portfolio-level strategies. He advises on a wide range of technologies and industries, including biotechnology, chemistry, electrical engineering, networking, energy, medical devices, and consumer electronics.

Tim represents Fortune 500 companies, technology pioneers, and individual inventors, among others, and prides himself on understanding and crafting the optimal strategy to achieve his clients’ commercial and economic goals – whether monetization, technological differentiation, or market share maximization.

Tim’s experience spans all aspects of US patent litigation from district courts to the Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court, includes robust experience before administrative agencies such as the US Patent & Trademark Office and the International Trade Commission, as well as implementing global strategies through international arbitration and by overseeing counterpart proceedings around the world.

Prior to joining the firm, Tim served as the head of the Intellectual Property Litigation group at Schulte Roth & Zabel. Before that, he was partner at two international law firms.
