Ms. Zheng has been practicing Inbound and Outbound Dispute Resolution for 29 years. She served in the Beijing First Intermediate People’s Court for 9 years, hearing more than 1000 civil and commercial cases as a judge. She has been a Dispute Resolution Partner at JunHe LLP since 2015 and another leading Chinese firm for two years. Prior to that, she worked in the Beijing Office of Jones Day for 7 years. As lead counsel and a team leader, Ms. Zheng represented both Chinese and international clients and successfully handled complex disputes inside and outside of China. Ms. Zheng has also shadowed several English Judges as a representative of a PRC Judge at the Royal Courts of Justice in London and worked in the London Office of Eversheds Law Firm in 2005.

Ms. Zheng is Arbitrator at SHAC, SHIAC, SCIA, HKIAC, Part-time professor and graduate student instructor at Law School and Lawyer School of Renmin University and the University of Political Science and Law, and WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center expert. In 2020, Ms. Zheng was listed in the talent pool of Foreign-related lawyers by Beijing Lawyers Association.

Ms. Zheng specializes in dealing with a wide variety of complex civil and commercial disputes within or outside of China, and her experience mainly covers the areas of international trade, contracts, anti-monopoly and anti-unfair competition, foreign investment, aviation, infringement of reputation and other complicated civil and commercial matters, administrative investigation, and white-collar criminal defense, administrative investigation and most of the subject value is over RMB 100 million.

Ms. Zheng was named ALB China Top 15 Litigators, the Legal 500 Asia Pacific Recommended Dispute Resolution Lawyer, the Legal 500 Greater China Recommended Dispute Resolution Lawyer, and Benchmark China Star Litigator from 2019 to 2026. Recipient of the Guike Academy Laurel - Teaching and Mentoring Award in 2025.

Recent matter/case highlights
  • Representing a German high end medical device manufacturer and its Hong Kong shareholder in multi jurisdictional proceedings across China and Germany, acting as the lead counsel in both German and China proceedings and achieving full success across civil, commercial, administrative, and arbitral forums, including a favorable judgment from the Beijing Fourth Intermediate People’s Court in China and DIS arbitration complete success in a EURO 670 million dispute in Germany.

  • Representing a foreign owned steel cord manufacturer in joint venture and infringement litigation disputes in China and parallel SIAC arbitration proceedings in Singapore involving RMB 39.9 million claims, resulting in opposing party’s withdrawal of all claims and facilitating settlement in both proceedings.

  • Representing a Chinese listed company and 12 senior personnel in securities misrepresentation cases involving over 3,000 investors and approximately RMB 1 billion in dispute value, before the Guangzhou Intermediate Court and Guangdong High Court.

  • Representing a major Chinese manufacturer in an ICC arbitration in Switzerland initiated by a Middle Eastern distributor involving RMB 2.2 billion. As lead counsel, devised pivotal procedural strategies. Assisted the client in evidence consolidation, dispute refinement, and executing a robust defense encompassing counterclaims and termination rights preservation regarding the agreements.

  • Successfully represented a globally renowned U.S. packaging conglomerate in securing the recognition and enforcement of two Hong Kong arbitral awards in Mainland China, and facilitated the recovery of over RMB 100 million through local enforcement proceedings. Notably, this case stands as one of the first seminal cases following the Supreme People’s Court’s (SPC) issuance of the Notice on Issues Concerning the Proper Collegial Panel for Cases Involving Arbitration-Related Judicial Review in May 2017. It set a precedent for the "recognition-first, enforcement-second" approach adopted by Chinese courts regarding Hong Kong arbitral awards, and was also selected as one of the six typical cases released by the Supreme People's Court in 2024 in support of Hong Kong-seated arbitration.
