Dispute resolution

Burr & Forman has established a solid regional presence in the Southeast and Northeast, with offices in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Delaware, North Carolina and Alabama, which includes its headquarters. The Atlanta office prides itself on attending to a variety of commercial litigation matters with a different dollar amounts at stake, ranging from the bet-the-company to the more middle-market bread-and-butter levels. Shea Sullivan handles primarily loan disputes and customer deposit dis-putes. Sullivan settled a large case on behalf of a manufacturer of cereal box board and corrugated box materials that were embroiled in a dispute with a customer/competitor that violated a contract by ceas-ing to purchase from the client after the competitor emerged from bankruptcy. Due to rumors of the im-minent bankruptcy prior to the official announcement of it, the client began demanding cash up front for its purchases, prompting the competitor to sue the client. The client then filed a counterclaim of $78 mil-lion. Since this case settled, Sullivan has been representing the half-owner of an anaesthesiology provider in a “business divorce” case worth over $100 million.
