Julia is a Partner at BD&P. Her practice is focused on complex, high-stakes litigation and arbitration. Julia has appeared as counsel before the Alberta King’s Bench, Alberta Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Appeal, as well as numerous domestic and international arbitration tribunals. She clerked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench. Before joining BD&P in 2016, Julia worked at a top global law firm in New York.
Julia acts in a wide range of commercial disputes involving claims of contractual breach, economic and intentional torts, negligence and breach of fiduciary and good faith duties. She also advises on director and officer liability. Her areas of expertise include energy disputes, real estate litigation, and environmental litigation.
In addition to appearing before the courts, Julia acts in commercial arbitration proceedings and has considerable experience with international commercial and investment treaty disputes.
Julia was recognized for her expertise in dispute resolution by Legal 500 Canada in 2022.
