Karen is a Partner in the commercial litigation group in BLG’s Calgary office and is involved with BLG’s Team North. Karen’s practice focuses on commercial disputes with an emphasis on the energy industry, including oil, gas and electricity. Karen acts in both litigation and regulatory matters. She does both trial and appellate work and has appeared before the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada as well as numerous tribunals including the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator, and the Northwest Territories Public Utilities Board. Karen obtained an LLB, University of Calgary, 1994 and BA, University of Calgary, 1992.
Called to the Alberta Bar in 1995, Northwest Territories Bar in 2010 and Nunavut Bar in 2023.
