Stacy North has established herself as both an entrepreneur, launching and leading a law firm, and as one of the state’s preeminent employment lawyers. In 2019, Stacy established Berman North, a boutique employment law firm, with Scott Berman. The structure of the firm allows Stacy to personalize her time with her clients, while fully familiarizing herself with each case and formulating the best strategies to achieve optimal outcomes. Prior to founding Berman North, she was a partner at Pierce & Shearer, LLP, where she practiced for 12 years. Although she is primarily an advocate for employee rights, Stacy’s breadth and depth of experience enables her to represent both employers and employees, a rarity in employment law. Having a birds-eye view of both sides allows Stacy to create well-rounded strategies within the sector.
On the plaintiff ’s side, she is a fierce advocate for workers and believes deeply in the right to fair and honest work environments for all people. On the defense side, she counsels employers to ensure they’re complying with applicable laws and helps them efficiently and effectively manage claims. Representing both sides gives her a more global perspective on her clients’ disputes and allows her to create well-rounded strategies for them. She was selected this year as one of the Top Labor & Employment Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal, has been recognized by Super Lawyers on its annual list since 2020, and has also ranked in the Top 100 for National Trial Lawyers.
Stacy forges new paths in employment litigation by protecting the citizens of California as a whole and by assisting underrepresented community members. Stacy gives back by contributing pro bono work to the Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto (CLSEPA). This organization is a non-profit offering legal services that improve the lives of low income families throughout the region. They specialize in immigration, housing, workers’ rights, records clearance, and consumer protection. Stacy’s contributions to this organization help to reshape the structure of California and showcase her immense commitment to societal responsibility.
