Susan is a Partner whose practice focuses on litigating and arbitrating construction, energy, commercial and labour disputes.
Susan has significant experience representing owners, general contractors and subcontractors in industrial, commercial and institutional construction disputes. Susan provides advice relating to issues arising before, during and after construction, including claims involving construction contract interpretation, product liability, delays, lost productivity, cost overruns, faulty workmanship and builders’ liens.
Susan also has experience litigating energy disputes involving a wide-range of contractual issues including related to royalties, product pricing, and operator costs. Her commercial litigation practice focuses on claims between business owners, including shareholder and partnership disputes, oppression actions and business valuation matters.
Susan’s labour practice includes representation of clients in the construction, energy and retail sectors relating to certification applications, unfair labour practice complaints, and successor and common employer applications.
Susan has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta as well as at the Alberta and Saskatchewan Labour Relations Boards. She has also represented clients in leave to appeal applications made to the Supreme Court of Canada.
