K&L Gates expands IP team in Japan
Mitsuhiro Imamura and his paralegal team joined the firm’s Tokyo office from DLA Piper. Imamura, who joined as a partner, specialises in patent protection and disputes. This move enhances the K&L Gates’ capacity to deal with IP protection work in Japan.
Taylor Wessing joins forces with Chinese IP agency
Taylor Wessing has partnered with Beijing Tailun IP Agency to provide trade mark and IP enforcement services to clients in China. The firm’s new China IP practice is led by Munich-based IP partner Thomas Pattloch, who will be supported by five new lawyers. Beijing Tailun IP Agency was established in 2020.

AJ Park has changed its logo. CEO Pete Boyle explained why: "The emphasis on a new brand reflects the brand values we live by so we can meet the diverse needs of our clients; global, vital, approachable, attentive and astute."

Santarelli Group expands partnership
The Santarelli Group, which comprises Brevalex, IPSIDE and Santarelli, recently promoted several practitioners to partner. The new partners include Eléonore Arfan, Fabien Bas, Ghislain Laurin and Véronique Marcadé.
HGF appoints another solicitor as CEO
Litigator Martyn Fish was promoted to CEO after serving as head of litigation and transactional IP. Fish takes over from fellow lawyer Paul Sanderson.
Patent Star elected managing partner at Venner Shipley
Pawel Piotrowicz was elected managing partner on July 1 to replace Jan Walaski, who occupied the role since 2015.

Kluge has joined CMS as a full member firm. The Norwegian firm already operates under the new name CMS Kluge, but the integration is expected to complete by October.

Tamara El-Shibib joined Gowling WLG in Dubai as a senior patent and technology transfer consultant. El-Shibib was previously with Cedar White Bradley.

IP litigator Anne Marie Sejersted joined as a partner in the firm’s IP practice. Sejersted was previously with law firm Kvale.
Dentons France welcomes a new head of IP
Litigator Loïc Lemercier was hired as a partner to lead the firm’s IP and technology practice in Paris. The former Clifford Chance lawyer brought along associate Tom Blanchet.
