Jennifer Keller is one of California’s premier trial lawyers. A Fellow of the invitation-only American College of Trial Lawyers, she has tried over 150 cases to jury verdict, ranging from complex civil matters — including business and intellectual property cases — to white collar to murder. Her firm, Keller/Anderle LLP, has been named by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals as one of California’s “Top Boutiques” in litigation.
In 2011 Jennifer captained MGA in the retrial of Mattel v. MGA to a $309 million win Reuters called “an astonishing loss” for Mattel and the L.A. Times deemed “a stunning reversal of fortune” for MGA. Just two years earlier Jennifer won California’s largest business jury verdict of 2009 with $350 million awarded to her venture capitalist client in Auerbach v. Daily. She defended Standard & Poors in United States v. The McGraw-Hill Companies, the government’s civil suit claiming S&P inflated the value of certain mortgage-backed securities, helping to precipitate the financial crisis of 2008. (Jennifer was selected as one of S&P’s three trial attorneys.) The government sought at least $5 billion in penalties under the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery & Enforcement Act (FINRA); McGraw-Hill ultimately settled with the government for one-fifth of that amount.
In 2017 Jennifer was co-lead counsel for a real estate developer accused of political corruption in what then-Attorney General Jerry Brown called the largest such case in the history of San Bernardino County and possibly California. After a nine-month jury trial, he was acquitted of all charges.
Jennifer is listed annually in “The Best Lawyers in America®” and is among the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America. In 2012, California Lawyer Magazine named her a “California Attorney of the Year” for extraordinary achievements in litigation. She appears routinely in the Los Angeles Daily Journal as one of California’s Top 100 Lawyers and Top Women Lawyers. She appears on Benchmark Litigation’s 2017 list of America’s 250 Top Women Litigators. Jennifer is also a senior fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
Jennifer is a former President of the 6,500-member Orange County Bar Association, serves as a Trustee of Chapman University, is a board member of the Anti-Defamation League of Orange County and Long Beach, and served on the board of the Southern California chapter of the International Women’s Forum. Her present and former clients include judges, public officials, law enforcement officers, developers, CEOs, CFOs, lawyers, physicians, professional athletes, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, as well as Fortune 500, publicly-traded and privately held companies.
