Danielle A. Duszczyszyn, Ph.D.

Danielle Duszczyszyn, Ph.D., is a first-chair patent litigator who leads litigation teams in complex, high-stakes pharmaceutical and life sciences disputes. Her practice centers on U.S. district court patent litigation, including matters arising from Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA) under the Hatch-Waxman Act. She represents clients in bench and jury trials involving pharmaceutical,
biotechnology, medical device, and other life sciences technologies.

Danielle approaches each matter with a focus on understanding the client’s business objectives and developing a litigation strategy tailored to achieving them. Drawing on her scientific background and extensive litigation experience, she develops strategies for complex issues involving infringement, validity, and claim construction and leads teams in executing those strategies from the earliest stages of a dispute through trial and post-trial proceedings. She also counsels clients on patent procurement, portfolio strategy, and pre- and post-litigation strategies.

Danielle brings significant scientific and industry experience to her practice. Before entering law, she worked in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and cosmetic industries, including on Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials at major pharmaceutical companies. She earned her Ph.D. from McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine, where her research focused on T cell homeostasis and thymic abnormalities in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.

Danielle is a member of the firm’s Compensation Committee and Management Committee. She was shortlisted for Managing Intellectual Property’s Litigator of the Year: DC Metro in 2024 and has recently been recognized in IAM Patent 1000 for Litigation (DC Metro) and as a Managing IP Patent Star (DC).
