Dispute resolution

Founded in 2015, Ariff Rozhan & Co specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration. The firm provides dispute resolution services to large banks, power providers and Malaysian conglomerates in sectors such as energy, gaming, logistics, automotive and infrastructure. Their clients include major Malaysian banks, the Malaysian Offshore Financial Services Authority, and conglomerates with interests in various industries. Leading the firm are managing partner Ariff Rozhan and founding partner William Lim, both renowned lawyers.

In the field of insolvency, the firm is currently representing a subsidiary of Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation in their defence against winding-up proceedings. These proceedings have been initiated based on an alleged debt related to the construction of six littoral combat ships. This case holds significant importance as it involves the insolvency of the client, which has a substantial workforce, and centres around a heavily disputed debt. The High Court has granted an application to strike out the petition on the grounds that the subject-matter is subject to arbitration. Currently, the matter is awaiting appeal at the Court of Appeal.

Some of the firm’s litigation clients are Boustead Naval Shipyard, Dar Al-Handasah Consultants, Felda Land Development Authority, JCT and Malayan Banking.
