Dispute resolution

Beccar Varela is a renowned law firm with active practice groups dedicated to complex litigation, arbitration, and white-collar and corporate crime across industries, such as banking, energy, automotive, insurance, internet, and social media, among others. The team is also active in class action disputes.

The firm is home to seven litigation stars who manage diverse practices. Litigation star Federico Sosa was recently appointed to partner in March 2020. He currently represents numerous multinational banks and insurance companies in class actions related to consumer law filed by varying consumer associations. Fellow litigation star Ignacio Flores, and newly added future stars Rocío Labán and Yanina Salemme Duprat, are also active on these matters. Martin Gastaldi and Gonzalo Garcia Delatour are lead counsel in several actions in defense of their client in actions related to the unconstitutionality of the settlement of FX forwards to pesos. Gastaldi was also lead counsel to Slade Gorton & Co. in a case originally centered around the alleged collection of unpaid invoices. After the Court rejected the claim in September of 2018, the Appeals Court also ruled in favor of the client in April 2021. Delatour serves as the litigation group chair. He is also active in complex, highly confidential, cross-border arbitration matters. He is recognized as the 2021 Arbitration Lawyer of the Year for Argentina at the Benchmark Latin America Awards.
