Dispute resolution

Chongqing-based multi-practice firm Solton & Partners specialises in a wide range of dispute resolution practices, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Members of the team often serve on arbitration panels as well as mediators in local proceedings. The firm is a member of Sino-Global Legal Alliance, which is the largest alliance of Chinese and foreign law firms in China.

Founding partners Xiaoli Zou and managing partner Xiaogang Wu are the key contacts at the firm. Both of them are prominent counsels in commercial disputes.

One highlight victory for the firm was in acting for Chongqing Tianji Meike Technology to respond to Xiaomi Technology in an unfair competition dispute case. In this case, the dispute between the plaintiff and the defendant as to whether the live broadcast of the comparison test for newly-released smart products by the Internet media constitutes unfair competition for commercial slander, involved questions of the supervision of the media and the boundaries of advertising. The pre-litigation prohibition order in this case was understood to be the first Internet commercial slander pre-litigation prohibition order. The case is still ongoing.

During the research period, the firm welcomed Pan Gao as a senior consultant. He previously worked for Chongqing Higher People's Court.

Notable clients include Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical, Midea, Southwest Securities and NVC Lighting.
