Dispute resolution

Clyde & Co is recognised for its work in international arbitration. Traditionally known for its sector expertise in shipping, insurance and transportation, the team is developing strengths in the oil and gas and construction sectors. The firm is the largest user of the London Court of International Arbitration. Key figures include Simon McConnell, Patrick Perry and Matthew Lam.

In one commercial and transactions sample, the firm acted for a Hong Kong school in defending a substantial claim following the unfortunate death of a school pupil on the premises. The firm provided advisory services to the school during the public inquest, which involved the examination of multiple witnesses' testimonies. The firm is subsequently handling the litigation.

The rest of the clients the firm has acted for during the research period remain confidential.

In May 2023, the firm lost aviation partner Peter Coles to Holman Fenwick Willan.
