On the commercial and transactions front, the firm represented an individual in two appeals before the Federal Court of Malaysia, the apex court in Malaysia, in relation to a claim for breach of confidence, breach of fiduciary duties, tort of deceit and conversion. The Federal Court of Malaysia addressed 11 legal questions in two appeals. Key issues included the principles of natural justice regarding client testimony, liability determination for redacted confidential information, available reliefs and damages in a breach of confidence case, and the reinstatement of a $10.1 million general damages award.
