Dispute resolution

Wen & Co, established by the esteemed competition lawyer Nicole Leong, provides clients with a customised legal service designed to navigate the dynamic competition landscape in Malaysia. Operating under a focused boutique model, the firm strives to offer the precision and flexibility of a small team combined with the extensive experience typically associated with top-tier law firms. By understanding the evolving needs of clients in an ever-changing competition landscape and increasingly stringent regulatory compliance, the firm is dedicated to delivering solutions tailored to their specific requirements.

Founding principal Leong has years of experience in the field of competition law. Before founding the firm, Nicole worked at Tay & Partners as a partner specialising in competition law, and played an instrumental role in many major and precedent-setting competition matters.

In the field of competition/antitrust, the firm is currently handling a case representing AirAsia, a low-cost carrier, against the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC). This case revolves around MyCC's application for a Federal Court review of its own decision. Notably, this is the first case that raises questions regarding the interpretation of the deeming provision under Section 4(2) of the Competition Act 2010. The Court of Appeal's decision in this matter carries significant implications for MyCC, as it establishes MyCC as a quasi-judicial body, thereby shaping its role and authority.
Other notable clients include FFM, Leong Hup Feedmill Malaysia, Novatis Resources and Silver Tech Synergy.
