Herrick, Feinstein LLP is a full-service mid-sized law firm founded in 1928, with offices in New York, Newark, and Pittsburgh. The firm is especially well known for its deep strength in commercial real estate, land use/zoning, development & construction, bankruptcy and finance disputes, and related litigation.

Carol Goodman is a complex commercial litigator who also co-chairs the firm’s litigation department and the employment practice. John H. Chun successfully defended the Executive Chairman of Audioeye in an employment litigation matter filed by a former executive after he was terminated for misrepresentations on his resume. After his termination, the plaintiff made allegations of retaliation and infliction of emotional distress. A client describes Chun as “very steady and focused.” Clients also boast about William Fried, declaring “Bill understands our company. He answers us quickly every time we reach out to him with a new case or a simple question. He sends us industry updates that are relevant to our operations. He knows how to represent us well and we feel that he always take into consideration our company's best interests. He is creative and focused on problem solving.” Another client declares Fried “deeply understands the issue at hand and develops a custom-tailored strategy to achieve an amicable resolution.” Fried further represents MIP Acquisition sued by Macklowe Investment Properties for over $3 million in alleged leasing commissions tied to 432 Park Avenue. Defendants argue Macklowe failed to meet a clear condition precedent—executing a standard leasing commission agreement—before any commission could be owed. After extensive discovery, both sides filed cross-motions for summary judgment in May 2024. The Court then issued a ruling in September 2024 granting complete victory for the firm’s clients by dismissing Macklowe’s complaint in its entirety for failing to comply with the condition precedent.
