Hecker Fink

Matthew Craig played a key role in securing the dismissal of all claims brought by Exxon Mobil against the Intergenerational Environment Justice Fund, an Australian environmental charity, in Texas federal court. The matter stems from statements concerning plastic pollution and Exxon’s recycling initiatives and carries significant implications for environmental advocacy, he helped obtain a ruling that the court lacked personal jurisdiction over the charity and several nonprofit defendants, resulting in the complete dismissal of the case. The decision marked an important victory for the Justice Fund and preserved its ability to continue advocating on issues related to plastic pollution and environmental accountability.

Hueston Henningan

Brittani Jackson co-led the defense of Amazon and Twitch in litigation stemming from the 2022 Buffalo grocery store mass shooting, helping secure a first-of-its-kind New York appellate decision dismissing claims against the social media defendants on Section 230, First Amendment and related grounds. She also played a leading role in the firm’s national climate litigation work for ExxonMobil, the SCE wildfire litigation, Walmart mass tort matters arising from the El Paso shooting, and PacifiCorp’s Labor Day Fires damages trials, where the team achieved verdicts far below plaintiffs’ demands. Christine Woodin has been a central figure in high-stakes IP, product liability and complex commercial disputes, including AbbVie’s multibillion-dollar Allergan Textured Breast Implant Litigation, where Hueston Hennigan is serving as primary U.S. trial counsel ahead of bellwether trials. She also co-led Samsung Bioepis’ defense in breach of contract litigation brought by Janssen over the biologic drug Stelara, helping defeat multiple preliminary injunction requests at both the district court and Third Circuit. Joseph Reiter served as lead counsel for Activision in a strategically important antitrust dispute brought by a former and would-be future Call of Duty League team owner seeking more than USD $100 million. Reiter and the team compelled the matter into confidential arbitration, narrowed the claims, and then secured dismissal on the pleadings after the arbitrator found the plaintiff had released all claims. Rajan Trehan was involved in Hueston Hennigan’s representation of PacifiCorp in litigation arising from the 2020 Labor Day Fires, a sprawling wildfire matter involving billions of dollars in claimed damages. As part of the team, he contributed to a series of favorable bellwether damages results and settlements that substantially reduced PacifiCorp’s potential exposure. Sourabh Mishra co-led the defense of Amazon and Starbucks in novel biometric privacy class actions challenging Amazon’s Just Walk Out and Amazon One technologies. The team secured a complete victory in Washington federal court after narrowing the claims through motion practice and discovery, leading plaintiffs to dismiss the case with prejudice; Mishra was also part of Amazon’s trial team in the FTC Prime litigation. Paul Vanderslice is listed among the individuals provided by you, but I do not see casework for him in the visible document content. To avoid hallucinating, I would need the relevant casework language before drafting an editorial summary. Michael Todisco was part of Hueston Hennigan’s defense of Amazon in the FTC’s high-stakes Prime litigation, which involved more than USD$10 billion in alleged exposure and ended in a USD$2.5 billion settlement with no admission of liability and limited compliance obligations. He was also involved in the firm’s defense of Amazon and Twitch in the Buffalo shooting-related social media litigation, as well as ExxonMobil’s nationwide climate litigation docket.

Joseph Saveri Law Firm

Christopher Young of the Joseph Saveri firm served as co-lead counsel and helped secure a landmark $375 million settlement on behalf of professional MMA fighters in a long-running antitrust class action against UFC, resolving claims that the organization used its market dominance to suppress fighter compensation. The outcome followed nearly a decade of litigation and has been recognized with prestigious antitrust awards, while also serving as an influential precedent in labor market and competition law.

Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight

Managing partner of the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices Ella Zheng represented the State of California and around 1,400 delivery drivers in a class and PAGA action against Weee!, North America’s largest supplier of Asian and Hispanic grocery products. Following extensive litigation and discovery, Zheng helped secure a $4.9 million settlement on behalf of the class, which received court approval in May 2025

Susman Godfrey

In Doe v. MindGeek USA Inc., Susman Godfrey's Krysta Pachman co-led a significant class action alleging that MindGeek knowingly profited from unlawful content involving minors. The matter achieved key victories, including overcoming dismissal challenges and securing certification of an international class, positioning the case at the forefront of efforts to hold online platforms accountable for user safety and content moderation practices. With experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex litigation nationwide, Eliza Finley has built a versatile practice spanning antitrust, intellectual property, employment, healthcare, breach of contract, and other business disputes.

WilmerHale

Paul Vanderslice took part in a successful case defending PayPal against a Hawaii consumer protection lawsuit alleging deceptive practices related to account restrictions, fraud protections, purchase protection disclosures, and privacy practices on PayPal and Venmo. After assuming the defense midway through the case, the team completed discovery, challenged the state's expert testimony, and built a strong record showing consumers were adequately informed of PayPal's policies. The parties reached a settlement requiring PayPal to pay $6 million, with all claims dismissed with prejudice. The resolution avoided potentially significant regulatory and financial consequences for PayPal and the broader digital payments industry, including the risk of copycat actions by other state attorneys general.
